To start learning about acupressure to induce labor, there are three acupressure points you must know to help your baby come to the world and in many cases reduce pain while in labor. Learning these three points is very simple with basic notions and a little bit of practice.

Acupressure Point #1: Hoku

The Hoku point, also sometimes called LI4 (because it is the fourth on the large intestine energy flow), can be found on the back of the hand. More precisely it is located about half way between the index and the thumb, where the two fingers meet. You can easily find it by bringing your two fingers together and you will see the muscle going up on your hand. This is the Hoku point. Just press and massage this point to relief pain and tensions and help to start labor.

Acupressure Point #2: Spleen 6

The Spleen 6 point, also called SP-6 or Three Yin Intersection, is located on the inside of your leg, just above the ankle. To find the exact position, measure 4 fingers (one hand width) above the ankle bone. You will find the point right there on the back side of the shin bone. Apart from helping to induce labor, the effects varies from helping to calm, reduce fear and worries.

Acupressure Point #3: Bladder 32

The Bladder 32 point is the third point and can be a little bit trickier to locate. The best way to find this point is to trace a line between your buttocks and the end of your spine with your finger. You should be able to find a little depression. This is the bladder 32 acupressure point. Just massage it for a minute and you should see immediate effects.
